Roaster Notes:

"Gaturiri is a “coffee factory”, a cooperative wet-processing mill, near the town of Karatina in the heart of Nyeri. This coffee comes from a group called the Barichu Farmers Cooperative Society. This co-op operates four different wet-mills in the Karatina area that consists of around 4500 memebers, which grow coffee as their main cash crop- this is the main revenue earner in the area. AA refers to the screen size, which is 17-19 screen. It doesn’t always speak to the quality, however, this AA lot has a much brighter, citric acidity than its AB counterpart, as well as juicy fruit flavors."

While these coffees do not carry a Fair Trade certification, they fall under our importer’s Farm Gate buying program that is guaranteed to pay 50% above FT minimums, but are often times 100% or more.
